You must be wondering when rinjani trekking will be reopened for everyone at Sembalun and Senaru Route. Greats news for those of you who are lovers of Mount Rinjani or who have been wondering for a while about the news of Mount Rinjani, because the Mount Rinjani National Park Hall (BTNGR) immediately Trekking Rinjani reopens the climbing Trail of Mount Rinjani on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. The route has been closed since the occurrence of a series of earthquakes in July to throughout August 2018.
“It is possible that mid-May 2019 has been trekking Rinjani reopens because weather conditions are possible during the dry season/ summer season,” said BTNGR Head Sudiyono in Mataram on Friday.
Sudiyono said, the four traditional climbing routes/trail to be opened are Sembalun and Timbanuh, which are located in East Lombok Regency, Senaru in North Lombok District, and Aik Berik in Central Lombok Regency. The Sembalun hiking trail was surveyed by a joint team in March 2018, while the Senaru hiking trail was surveyed from 30 April to 3 May 2019.
The Sembalun hiking trail that will be used as a road is a long trekking trail that will be closed, and it will be something new to the climber because the path is more beautiful and still filled with savanah and edelweiss, the Bukit Penyesalan lane to Pelawangan Sembalun .
Meanwhile, the road access that is used on the Senaru hiking trail is the usual trekking trail through trapping craters, POS 1, Extreme POS, POS 2, POS 3, to Senaru Crater Rim (Climber will spend the night at POS 3 closer to the eye source water.
A total of 19 joint teams conducted climbing Mount Rinjani through the Senaru route. They consist of personnel from the Gunung Rinjani National Park, Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation Center, Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, Indonesian National Army – Indonesian National Police, climbing service companies (Trekking Operators), and mountain tour guides consisting of guides and porter.
“Today the Senaru hiking trail survey team has completed its task. All have gone down the mountain,” said Sudiono.
The Timbanuh and Aik Berik hiking routes will still be surveyed again even though the conditions are relatively safe compared to the Sembalun and Senaru lines. According to Sudiyono, this was important because some time ago bad weather had the potential to cause landslides and fallen trees along the Timbanuh and Aik Berik hiking routes.
Sudiyono explained, the results of the survey would be the basis for making signs along the climbing path. Signs are needed for climbers to be careful.
“We installed signs where the location of the climbers had to be slow, the location had to be traveled at medium speed, and the area was safe for camping,” said Sudiyono.
According to Sudiyono, the certainty of opening the climbing lane awaits permission from the Directorate General of KSDAE, Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Even though it will be opened, the climbing activity is still limited because it only reaches Pelawangan and has not been recommended up to Segara Anak Lake considering that the route there is still not safe and dangerous for the safety of the human soul.
“The hiking trail is relatively safe until Pelawangan, but there is still a need to repair damage due to the earthquake some time ago,” he said.
